The successful applicant would be responsible for the management and delivery of environmental impact assessment work in the UK and overseas, assisting in developing a client base and marketing the services of the sustainability group at conferences and seminars.
The role would involve the following;
Leading delivery of EIA and Sustainability Appraisal projects to major clients, on some of the highest profile projects in the UK, Europe and Middle East.
Management of projects and budgets.
Business Development, Client Liaison and Care.
Assisting with the development of new products and service lines.
Developing and mentoring more junior members of the team.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent communication and client liaison ability together with the following key skills:
Proven experience and strong technical capability gained within a professional consultancy as well as a technical specialism in the earth sciences / contaminated land.
Good knowledge of relevant UK and International legislation.
Experience and understanding of Environmental Planning issues relevant to major development and infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in impact assessment, design including major urban design projects, master planning and environmental mitigation projects.
Strong management, project management, time management and resourcing skills.
A commercial and practical understanding of business and public inquiry experience.
Business development and client development both regionally and nationally, including fee tendering, scoping and estimating.
The successful candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic professional with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in EIA and a specialism such as contaminated land, air quality, noise, flood risk etc. Candidate should have strong project management and report writing skills. The successful candidate will aspire to form part of and assist in the management of a successful and rapidly growing sustainability consultancy business working closely with our national and international engineering colleagues.
