More Detailslikely to have been working within the field of Building Services Design for less than 8 years, will be well versed in working on highly serviced design and construction projects without supervision and in supervising the work of intermediate and junior staff. You will report to the Section Head and the Director of Engineering and will be required to carry out all necessary design functions covering Building Services Electrical systems including, cable sizing, lighting layouts and calculations using both manual methods and Cymap calculation software. These functions will be carried out under the Engineers self guidance with recourse to the Section Head or other Senior Engineers for checking and problem resolution. The level of supervision required from the Section Head will be dictated by the individual’s capability and experience. An involvement in all aspects of the engineering process including site visits, surveys, data gathering, Client meetings, office based design functions, estimating of electrical designs, production of schemes and layouts for CAD draughting by support staff, writing of technical specifications, visiting site for quality control during construction, assistance with final commissioning, compilation of Health & Safety files and operating and maintenance manuals is expected. The checking of drawings and technical specifications produced by other Engineers will be part of the Engineers duties. The successful candidate will have a good command of both spoken and written English and will be able to hold technical discussions with Clients and other design team members (within the realms of their technical knowledge) and produce clear and lucid technical reports and specifications. You will be expected to undertake Continual Professional Development by reading technical journals, attending relevant IEE / CIBSE technical seminars from time to time and attending in house seminars aimed at increasing technical and operational knowledge. Operation within the requirements of the Company Quality Assurance system, the Electronic systems Policy & and the Electronic filing system at all times and will be subject to periodic reviews to ensure understanding and compliance.
