An established Management Contractor is seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineer. Their operating market is in commercial, health, education, residential, retail and their own properties construction division with electrical project values from 250k to 12.5m. Requirements include: An Electrical Engineer from preferably a main subcontractor back ground or Design Consultant with site installation experience and have a sound knowledge and experience within major contract division. The candidate must have the recognized electrical qualification to IEE 16th Edition Regulations BS7671 and City & Guilds - Electrical Installation. They will provide training to achieve IEE 17th Edition Regulation BS7671:2008 to technically check equipment tender quotations against the designer specification to insure that the Tender cost plan is fully compliant with the designers requirements. To evaluate specialist CDP proposals for compliance with the Building Inspector / Fire Officers Requirements i.e. Fire Alarms systems, Gas Suppression systems, VESDA systems. To evaluate the Employers requirement to achieve a compliant CDP on systems such as Security Systems, I.T. & Fire Alarm Systems etc. Manage in house CAD operators who will produce the installation co-ordination drawings and insure that they have all necessary information to carry out this task. Producing drawing production programmes to meet the requirements of the Project Construction Programme. Also produce plant procurement programme in line with the Project Construction Programme and co-ordinate same with the Commercial Department to insure that the plant has been technically evaluated and approved with the designer before a recommendation is issued to the Buyer. Negotiate with perspective suppliers a commercial discount prior to Orders being place for equipment. The position does not require the candidate to manage the installation on site as this is carried out by a separate department [Building Services Manager] who will be site based. The candidate will liaise with the BSM on technical issue as they arise to insure any queries are quickly resolved. This may include necessary meetings with the Client and his Professional Team. To manage all approvals through the Consultant with the required plant technical submissions and/or information request schedules where design clarification is sort. Previous design knowledge is desirable to discuss Valued Engineering on design concept issues as necessary. Produce month progress reports to the Client to demonstrate the current situation against the programmes produced. You would need to be CSCS Registered to meet the Health & Safety standards required by our client and be full conversant with the use of a P.C. and associated software.
