They are seeking to recruit a Construction Estimator who will have experience in all types of construction and will have held a senior post within a leading construction company, having being responsible for the production of full accurate estimates to Design and Build contracts to all formats including BOQ’s SOR’s SMMT, Cost Plan and detailed estimate breakdowns. This position is to manage / produce accurate and detailed Building /Construction package estimates. The candidate will have a wide range of experience across all aspects of Construction and Civils works. The candidate will ideally be able to survey and measure completed packages and develop detailed cost plans and estimates in D&B opportunities for our accounts. Key responsibilities are as follows: Maximise and bring to the attention of the directors any beneficial information that may arise during the tender period. Carefully vet all quotations to ensure that they fully comply with the specification. Arrange for a site visit where necessary and liaise with the contracting department. Ensure that tender documentation is kept in a safe place and secure manner and that no original data is removed. Materials to be archived in accordance with laid down procedures. Prepare schedules of rates when requested within timescales laid down and where possible to the advantage of the company. Review tender documents and drawings Responsible for preparing, managing and taking accountability for the development of cost estimates in support of project and business objectives. To create detailed cost risk analysis and work breakdown analysis to ensure the production of high quality cost estimates. Identify and prepare risks and opportunities register Compile enquiries and procure quotes for materials and sub-contract packages Analytical estimation of prime costs using estimating software Liaise closely with tender planner and agree methodology and sequencing Prepare submission documents / pricing schedules and ensure timely delivery Contribute to mid-tender and post-tender meetings as necessary Prepare and handover secured tenders to the project team Ensure full compliance with the core process procedures throughout tender period To promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, subcontractors and other external contacts Skills required: Qualification: ONC/HNC IT competent/computer literate Knowledge of Estimation System would be preferable but not essential. Flexible and able to multi-task and capable of meeting tender submission deadlines.
