Job Description
Our client is a successful multidisciplinary consultancy with offices based across the UK employing over 3500 people. They have ambitious development plans for their transport division in the North West and they are currently seeking to recruit a Transport Design Engineer for their Cumbria office. This role will involve the successful candidate in leading projects and managing the technical development of the department. You will be required to act as a mentor to junior staff, assist with the training & development of staff when needed and you will take a leading role in planning, maintaining & improving the division`s technical standards. Applicants must hold a transportation related degree with experience in delivering transportation projects, working on all stages, from beginning to end. You should have a working knowledge of Local Transport Plan processes and of government transport policies. Ideally, candidates will be working towards Chartered status and have experience of carrying out road safety audits & studies, preparing fee proposals and report writing. Experience of project management and liaising with clients & 3rd parties would also be required along with a full UK driving licence. Project values range from #100k & #2M and will be based around Cumbria, however sometimes you will be required to assist with projects out of this area and so some travelling will be involved.
