Our client is a hugely successful company with offices in over 100 countries and over 12,000 employees working within various sectors from traffic, transportation, water and the environment to heath, education and communications. They currently seek to recruit a Road Safety Engineer for their Traffic & Transportation team based in our clients Southampton office. The main responsibility within this role is to help with the reporting & monitoring of the network`s performance regarding the safety of teams & projects, highlighting any areas requiring improvement and carrying out Road Safety Audits. You will assist in delivering designs, studies & safety advice to the highways & structures teams to ensure that they produce the outcomes agreed, and to ensure this is done within the set timescales & budgets. You will maintain the accident database, undertake accident studies & analyses and you may also be required to assist with the Bid & tender stages of projects. Candidates are required to hold a relevant engineering degree and ideally hold membership to a professional institute. You should have strong technical experience of Road Safety Engineering and be qualified as Road Safety Auditor to HD19/03 standards. You should have knowledge of the relevant design codes (MCDHW/ DMRB) and of Highways Agency procedures relating to road safety schemes and you should also be experienced in the construction & design of highways schemes.
