Job Description
Major multidisciplinary consultancy currently seeks to appoint an Associate/ Principal Engineer for their Highways and Infrastructure team based in the West Midlands. Our client is one of the UK`s leading firms of consulting engineers offering services across the board including Building Structures, Fire Engineering, Traffic & Transportation, Water & wastewater, Rail and Sustainability, to name just a few. Established in the 1920s, they have grown into an international organisation with major operations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
The company`s Highways team has extensive knowledge and experience in the field, extending from the inception to completion of major and minor highway schemes as well as the design of a significant number of infrastructure improvements both in the UK and worldwide. They have amassed an impressive portfolio of projects collaborating with key clients including the Highways Agency, English Partnerships, Network Rail and Regional Development Agencies. Major projects include A1 Wetherby Bypass, the M1-A1 Link Road DFBO, M6 Widening and Highway 2000 in Jamaica.
Our client is currently looking for a highly capable engineer to fill this role. Applicants must be degree qualified in a relevant subject such as Civil Engineering or Traffic and Transportation Engineering with a significant level of postgraduate experience, some of which will have been gained with a UK based consultancy. The ideal candidate will be an established project manager with the ability to deliver major highways and infrastructure projects across the Midlands and overseas. Applicants must have a strong understanding of the Highways Agency project delivery process at all stages as well as knowledge of the development planning process, including section 106, 38 and 278 agreements.
