Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Instrumentation Production and Sales Manager, the Instrumentation Electronics Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the work undertaken in the Instrumentation department.
The main purpose of this position will be the production and servicing of electronic geotechnical instrumentation and confined space communications systems. From time to time the role may also involve site installations and product development, including hardware, firmware and software aspects.
The Instrumentation Electronics Engineer will be responsible for:
* The production and repair of Golder RMT`s range of electronic geotechnical instrumentation and confined space communications equipment;
* Product control through application of our ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance system and intrinsically safe ATEX standard;
* Involvement with the continual improvement of our products and production processes;
* Involvement in design and production engineering of new products; and
* Familiarisation with the application of Golder RMT`s product range and occasional site installation and servicing.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified within electrical engineering, or a similar discipline;
* Experience within the manufacturing and production of electronic products;
* Effective time management skills, with an ability to schedule and prioritise;
* Good interpersonal communication skills;
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment; and
* Ability to carry out clear instructions.
Although not essential, the following will be looked upon favourably:
* Membership to a relevant professional body;
* Experience of geotechnical monitoring products and mine communication systems;
* Technical familiarity with inventory control systems; and
* Familiarity with digital and analogue electronic product development and design.
